Hi, I have a .CDD file that I presume is a Claris Draw Document. Would anyone with the appropriate software be able to open this file and convert it to a more PC friendly format eg. gif, jpeg or whatever is easiest.

Either post a link to it or mail me...
Hi, I've been studying for a few months and have a few resources.
Best book is the Cisco CCNA Certification Guide by Wendell Odom. I also use the Sybex CCNA study guide to cross reference.
Cisco's Internetworking Technology Handbook also covers alot of topics and is of course free aswell...
1. OK, am with you for the subnetted network. 10.1.3.0/28 14 hosts on the netweork, mask is 255.255.255.240 etc
2. But still not quite so clear with the wildcard. Lets just use Standard Access Lists to simplify. With the example:
Access list 1 permit 10.1.3.0 0.0.0.240
That will allow any of...
<That is the whole purpose of that wildcard mask! It is there to give you more flexability.>
Perhaps I don't fully understand the concept of the Wildcard Mask but it all it seems to do is define a single address or an entire subnet. That doesn't sound very flexible to me.
"Very funny...
Good thread. I'm studying access lists at the moment and your explanation is much better than the one in the book I'm studying.
Out of curiousity, is there no other way to block a range of addresses on a single subnet other than adding an entry for each address in the list? Could you not just...
Hi, I'm having my PC replaced and have several System Data Source Names set up for various Access databases. Is there anyway I can avoid having to set these all up again. Is there an import/export tool I can use if I copy all the .mdb's into the same directory structure as my old PC. (Both PC's...
I am currently studying the CCNA course and in particular Cisco Switches. What exactly causes broadcast storms? I'm guessing that it is caused by not having STP enabled on a segment of switches and or bridges but can't find anywhere that will confirm this. Will any other circumstances cause it...
I would have thought it would be very difficult to run a network without DNS unless you have a very reliable way of updating the Hosts files on each computer.
If you use DHCP this is extremely simple. For NT, 2K and XP Pro create a batch file with the commands:
c:\ipconfig /release
c:\ipconfig /renew
For 9x clients a variation of. Has been a while since I used it so check to make sure.
c:\winipcfg /release
c:\winipcfg /renew
Youi can have this...
I am in a similar situation and like you am undecided which certification to go for. I have the MCSE for NT4 Track and am about to take the Windows 2000 server exam. After that I'm not sure. I would like to either go for CCNA or Windows 2000 directory services (AD). Unfortunately I have...
That didn't work, though I do have RAS installed the binding was correct, but using the key words from that page I found another article that solved the problem. There is a registry key that points towards:
\\servername\C$\veritas\....
Some darn fool had stopped sharing the C:\ as C$
Cheers
Yes, I thought the general reply would be Linux. However, until Exchange runs on it it would be a little difficult. there must be some NT based Firewall software. Surely other small businesses can't afford Nokia or Cisco Hardware but do want some kind of security in place.
I know simialar questions have been asked but my circumstances are slighty different. So bear with me...
Our small company currently has about 20 PC's and 4 servers on an ADSL line. All NT4; PDC, Exchange, SQL and Proxy. The Exchange and Proxy are connected to the ADSL line directly with a 2nd...
Hi, I am planning to move to the States very soon (though by application may be delayed a little after this weeks terrible incidents. God bless you all) and would like a little advise about the style of my resume and how to go about actively looking for jobs.
A copy of my resume is here if you...
It is the way that Microsoft conduct themselves as a business that annoys most people. I think it would be fair to say that they often copy their competitions ideas and then bury them. Examples are Windows 95 - Mac OS, Internet Explorer - Netscape Navigator, Windows NT - Novell Netware etc. etc...
