I am using Adobe InDesign CS on Windows XP. I am trying to compile a book using about 200 source .indd files. This is the problem I ran into:
"The maximum number of documents you can add to a book is 100. InDesign could not add all of the documents."
I found someone with a simliar problem...
I have Adobe CS and use Illustrator a lot. I believe I have some sort of software interferance going on, but I haven't been able to figure out what's causing it yet. I run a number of macro applications and I suspect one of them may be the culprit, although I've tried killing off the processes...
Ah, I just found one workaround: creating a class in my master CSS file that references both the height and width. This way I just need two classes, one for the main page .swf and one for the navigational .swf. Also, if I ever update the height in the future, I just have to update the master...
I am working on a website where there will be a Flash navigation menu on the left side. However, the first page will not have that menu; instead, it will have another .swf file. Same width, different height. My question is this: is there any way to have the HTML automatically adjust the...
Yeah, but with IE6 I get two popup windows that ask me to click Run. A little annoying as we work with several programs on a daily basis. Is there a way of lowering the security settings on each computer to allow the programs to run, without comprimising security for Internet access?
I'm building an intranet portal for my company and I want to have links to launch applications on individual user's computers, such as the calculator, database app, etc. How do I do this using either HTML or XHTML, through Internet Explorer?
I was under the impression that the library would save the graphics stored in it. The library file grew as I added my icons to it (its about 10 megs now). So this isn't the case?
I created a library with a collection of graphics that I am using throughout my documents. When I want to use them, I open the InDesign document and the InDesign library and drag and drop the graphic from the library to the document. My problem comes in after I've saved and exited InDesign...
What's the easiest way to combine all of the InDesign files into one? Is there an insert file or something? That may be a good option too.
Right now I have a collection of job interviews that I'm going to output to a single PDF file for publishing. I created a template for the interviews and...
Ah, so the TOC thing applies mainly to single files?
I've been reading the help files, my InDesign CS Bible, and watching the Linda training CDs, and I haven't been able to figure it out. Oh well, it will be a good 4 hour job :)
Let me clarify my setup. I have the following files:
1. Book file
2. InDesign document files (the chapter)
3. Table of Contents document file
Each of the InDesign document files contain text, including a text box that contains a job and a person's name. So the first chapter might have...
Thanks Marcus!
I'm still trying to figure out how to get text from text boxes onto my table of contents page. What I have right now is a book file with the chapters and a page for the table of contents. I selected the text box on the Master page of each chapter and made a paragraph style out...
I'm trying to make a table of contents based on a text box from chapters in my book file. I'm really struggling with the paragraph and toc styles. Basically, in each chapter of the book file, I have a text frame I'd like copied to the table of contents document. All of the chapters use the...
Alright, I want to begin a serious study of Illustrator CS. I have the program and I've been taking a CG class at school and I'm familiar with raster-based programs such as Paint Shop Pro, a bit of Photoshop, and Painter. What are the best books, from starting up to advanced stuff, for...
Okay, it's been a few years since I've done web design. I want to get back into it. I want to learn HTML, PHP, and CSS. What are the best books, forums, websites, and other resources for learning? I've been out of it so long I don't even know what's good anymore.
The two things I want to...
