Hello,
I have run out of ports on my 4506 but have spare slots. I have found another card on ebay by searching for the part number on the existing cards in my switch (WS-X4424-GB-RJ45). The ebay chassis has three power supplies - I think it is a 4006 - whereas mine has two which makes me...
Greetings to you, the IT community.
I am applying for a job that requires some small knowledge of Hiport/Sun. This is a non-technical position and I only have to have a basic knowledge. However, turning up to the interview knowing nothing would result in not getting the job ("He couldn't even...
Hi Vschumpy,
Okay, thanks for that. I think I'm going to give the DR option up as a bad joke. Explore some other options such as a Ghost image of the C: drive and use the backups for the data on D:.
Thanks for your help with this issue.

Hi Vschumpy,
As far as the machines go, the source server is an ML 370 G1. The tape drive is a Compaq Storage Works SDLT 320.
The Target server is a proliant ML570 G3 with a Quantum SDLT 320.
Both tape drives are attached via SCSI cables and the backup and restore are being performed locally...

Another thing to consider is what they'll be doing - some tasks are much more time/labour intensive. Eg, running a Service Desk for people who are spoon-fed IT sucks manpower like you wouldn't...

Graham, your comment about thinking about addressing makes me wonder what there is to think about addressing? Previously when setting up servers and workstations I've been allocated IP...
Thanks guys,
As soon as I know exactly what it is they want I'll search a little more specifically. I suppose I was initially a little put off by Cisco's vast amount of information.
Thanks for your help,
Dave
Hey there,
I've just been given a new job and it's taken me into a whole new area: setting up a new office complete with WAN. I'm happy setting up Servers and stuff but I've never had to set up a router from scratch before.
Does anyone know any good places to start reading about the best...
Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions.
