thanks! this inspired me to figure out a solution to my original problem.
if you put this switch on the shorcut command line
/@u-%username%
it will insert the windows login name at the groupwise login prompt every time! our windows logins are identical to our NDS/groupwise logins.
I should clarify that adding /@u-? after grpwise.exe in my shortcut target only works the first time. after i log in to groupwise, then exit, then click on my shortcut again, it puts in my user ID.
basically, i want to make a single, locked down, super simplified terminal services profile for...
Hello:
I would like to configure GroupWise to _not_ remember the username of the last authenticated user who logged in under that Windows profile. Is is possible to pass the groupwise exe a command line switch to not load the user ID?
Hello:
I've just been put on a project where there is a Citrix 1.8 server farm running on NT, but we want to upgrade to W2K running metaframe XP. We're concerned about potential problems with moving the current terminal services licensing server to another domain controller. (We're going to...

our office will be upgrading the desktop OS from NT 4.0 to XP within a year. I'm looking at our PC inventory and we've got about 30+ machines that are pentium II 400Mz and just out of their Dell 3 year warranty. I'm not too bothered about being out of serive warranty, but I was...
I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know how to check for the service pack, or the *.nlm files (at least a file search on the novell server didn't find them). Can you tell me how to verify this?
We are backing up the novell files via the Netware Agent (as opposed to through the network.) I've...
Hello:

I'll start by answering my own question:
I found the Tools->Forms->Design This Form utility, and have been able to make my pull down menus for my user defined fields. However, I cannot figure out how to make this customization apply to all the contacts in my folder.
How to I make a new form...

I'm trying to develop a contacts database to suit my company in an outlook 98's contact folder. I need a user defined field to be used in views, searchable, etc. I don't want people to fill this field in as free text, I would like to control the options. It would be perfect if I...
Hello --

Has anyone taken this seminar, received GIAC certification, or even heard about this org? It's an expensive course (for...
Hello --
In the past few months, I've seen quite a few of these in the event log on the proxy server:
Event ID: 46
Source: PacketFilterLog
Description: Packet filter protocol violation alert
I'm running MS proxy on NT 4.0. I'm assuming that this is a result of simple port scanning. But I'm...
Hello:
I'm using management console ver2.5.0, build 1127, on NT server 4.0. All machines in my domain are either NT server 4.0 or NT workstation 4.0. On my component configuration, virus scan NT, detection tab I have added "all fixed disks". Everyday at noon, a full scan is...
