Another update. Got it to work some of the time. It is up and down. I know it has to do something with the security settings, just don't know what. Still getting the same Error 17 when the connection is not working.

New twist. I can connect to the linked server using computer management on the local server. Go to EM and refresh. I see the linked server but still cannot connect, gives me Error 17.
