here's what to do.
1, first get the bios updates from Giga-byte for your motherboard. (make sure it's the GA-7VAX motherboard). save to a place on your hard drive make sure they are in they're own folder (it's easier that way.)

No it was not the Disk that was write protected. but I didn't used the AutoEXEC that was with the bios update (was scared too so I used the AUTOEXEC from Make a MS-Dos Start up disk the first time) but that was the reason it would not let me update without it (when I did it the old fashion way)...
I have a problem, whenever I go to update my Bios either from @Bios or just the good old fashioned way I get a 'write protect' error, the problem is I dont have any way in my bios to disable write protection, im losing hair here as I plan on upgrading my processor and really need to flash it...
