    Code Error 009-340 Xerox Phaser 790

    To bring this story to an end the printer is now operational, the two lamps in the pre heater were open and have been replaced and the print head was indeed faulty, an 840 head has been fitted in its place and printing is fine.

    Thanks for your reply, I learnt a quick way to check the 2 bulbs in the heater assembly on an 840 without having to remove the unit,pins 3 & 5 (from left)on the bottom row of the assembly socket, with plug removed, should read 20 Ohms if both bulbs are ok.
