Setting up AVAYA Legend/Magix Unified Messaging in non-exchange mode

I am running unified messaging using an ISP mail provider as the carrier of the messages (non-exchange mode) There were a TON of road blocks, but I got through them. 1st: If you were previously using a local exchange server, you must uninstall unified messaging, and re-install it, in the...

Hosted Exchange, voicemail to email suggestions

Folks, My sincere apologies for the delay, but circumstances were beyond my control... Here are the "STATUS" codes that you will find in the log file: I'll try to figure out how to create a FAQ also and put them there. I'm not terribly familiar with posting on this site, I generally use it...

Hosted Exchange, voicemail to email suggestions

I am running unified messaging in the configuration that you are wishing for. There were a TON of road blocks, but I got through them. 1st: you must uninstall unified messaging, and re-install it, in the non-eschange mode. 2nd: I use AT&T U-Verse for my ISP, so I had to create a mail user...

Is there polarity for ports on 412TDL?

I realize that the 412 TDL pinouts do indicate a specific polarity, per port. If the polarity is switched on one jack, what indications do you get? I've had a jack to a 44XX phone miswired for a long time and there have been no issues?? Just curious.

    2 4424LD's on a 412 TDL card

Tom, thank for the follow up. Yes, 2 wire from the patch panel to the power supply, then 4 wire from the power supply to the phone. All genuine AVAYA parts. I also agreed that is was a possible mis-wire, but it's so strange that the phones have been working for almost a year and simply...

    2 4424LD's on a 412 TDL card

Thanks for the reply. I only have four phones on the 412TDL, only two of which are 4424LD. These are also the only 4424LDs on the system. Yes, both phones would work with any non-powered set plugged in (I used two 4406D's). It was a strange problem. I'm really thinking that my 412TDL may...

    2 4424LD's on a 412 TDL card

Well, no split pairs - rechecked all wiring connections, on-and-on-and-on. Both ports were "renumbered" to the TDL card at least a year ago, and have been working fine. The Final resolution was to renumber one of the two ports back to the original port (logical ID), then to use another TDL...

    2 4424LD's on a 412 TDL card

All Genuine AVAYA parts, including power supplies. I was simply cleaning up a bundled wire at the cross connect. I installed one of the proper length and bang, the phone went out of service. When I checked the other 4424LD, it was out of service also. I put the original cords back in place...

    2 4424LD's on a 412 TDL card

HELP! I've had 2 4424LD phones on ports on a 412 TDL card for months and months. I replaced a cord on the cross connect and NOW, if both are plugged into their respective ports, both phones go dead. If I unplug either phone, the other phone comes to life. If I remove both power supplies, both...

Merling Messaging with Unified Messaging problem...

Sorry, I don't have a list of registry entries, but I do know that I installed and uninstalled mine several times. Each time, I used start >control panel >add/remove programs to uninstall it. I also used the unistall script in the c:/program files/unified messaging directory. All of these...

Merling Messaging with Unified Messaging problem...

Thanks for your input. I found that my problem was simply that my virus protection software had port 25 blocked for outgoing SMTP messages. The minute I opened up the block, all of the messages in the holdling folder went out. It is really great and very reliable. I'm very happy with it...

Merling Messaging with Unified Messaging problem...

I'm hoping that someone out here has seen this problem. I have a Merlin Magix, rel 3 system with Merlin Messaging, Release 4. Everything works well, except my UNIFIED MESSAGING (running the SMTP method, NOT the EXCHANGE method). I have everything set up correctly, both in the merlin...

Merlin Messaging 4.0 Outcalling Administration gocha!

Don't fall into the same mistake that I did. I very successfully migrated (using my magix 3.0 system) from old Merlin Mail - Release 3, to a new Merlin Messaging Release 4. GREAT NEW FEATURES! BUT, if you use your network, and the Administration software that runs on your PC, to set up your...

Question about Merlin Messaging R4.0 & ports...

Can someone please clarify the following for me.. If there is NO PCMCIA card in a Merlin Messaging, Release 4.0 (or any release for that matter), does this mean that the unit is a 2-port voicemail, or a 0-port voicemail? I've been seeing Release 4.0 Merlin Messaging for sale, with a 2-port...
