hi, thanks for the help. just wanted to include this. right after I ran hijackthis an error came up it said "windows explorer has had a problem and needs to close" I pressed ok and it flickered a second or two and then everything seemed to be alright anyway I will send the results...

i tried this using 'BLACK VIPER's' suggestions on profiles and set this for "safe" using his guidelines and when i am connected and running one ie window it is showing using 91% memory usage, that seems pretty high, is there anything I can do to lower THAT value . I went to services...

sorry it took so long to get back to this. I replaced the mouse and that seems to have fixed it. It hasn't frooze up since I put the other mouse in, about 2 full days. Wanted to let you know how it turned out. Thanks for the help

well ok I read the article and I gather the cache is for the prosesser and the ram is more for the web, web sites, pics, ect. that you might also want to access faster then the main memory and things that take a lot more memory that can fit in the cache.[bigears] anyway still a little confused...

Can a file be transfered from one hard drive to another when they have different operating system's. ie> win95 to win98se
