I recently had a problem with ME crashing all the time. I seem to have solved thhis by disabling Power Management, both in BIOS and also by unchecking Power Management in the startup files by using the "Msconfig" utility and selecting "selective startup" - hope this works for...
Thanks for the tip. In the end I did the upgrade, and yes it made things worse. The good news is that when I took power saving and Blaster Control out of the startup files everything worked fine and has done since.
I have been using Windows 98 since I got my (Dell PII 450) computer in 98. Subsequently I have upgraded the hardware - new mobo and PIII 800 chip plus memory etc. Also added various Microsoft upgrades to the OS. In recent weeks -maybe a couple of months the system started to get a bit flakey...
