The TDC stuff looks really good.
Does anyone know if you can access the data in this way?
i.e. it's easy to get a table cell to display the data, but can I read the following data into a JavaScript variable:
datasrc="#tdcStaff"
datafld=FirstName
I need to read the actual data then process...
Another way to do it is to add a mask. See "add mask" in the dropdown menu at the top of the Layers panel (select the relevant layer first!)
I think the mask has to be a bitmap, (not a vector rectangle or something). It seems that a black in the mask makes the masked object transparent, and...
With GIFs, there are only 2 level of transparency - i.e. totally transparent or not at all. You can't have 25% opacity like you can within Fireworks.
For this reason the edges sometimes look ragged.
The solution is to make sure that the "Matte" setting in the optimize panel contains the colour...
Does anyone know if it is possible to animate something within a symbol, then have multiple instances of that animation in your main document?
For example: a 10-frame animation of a man clapping within a symbol. Then having 4 of these clapping men symbols in the main document?
Fireworks help...
OK - I've just had some help from another contact, and he has fixed the problem by reducing the blackness of the border in a couple of the frames... particularly the frames immediately preceeding major scene changes. To reduce the visibility of this, these new borders were only used in extra...
The border is within the graphic (before I've exported it), not part of the HTML - it's on a layer, shared across all frames.
I still can't figure it out.
I've had this problem in both Fireworks 4 and MX.
THE SITUATION - I'm loading an animated GIF and then adding a border. The border is a simple 1-pixel black line, and is on a layer, shared across all frames.
THE PROBLEM - when I export and view in Internet Explorer (or do an F12-preview) the...
Excellent - I never knew about that trick.
I just went and installed that (says it's running at 10Mbps!)

..still, I cannot start the web-service in IIS.... is there something I'm missing here? Can't figure it out. Any ideas, throw them in.
Thanks,
Jonathan
I can't answer your question, but can I ask one of my own.? I'm also using WinXP Pro with IIS 5.1, but am unable to view any of my web-pages..

Rochester,
It's good to know that...
"For ASP all you need is Notepad and IIS." But I was wondering (I'm an IIS/Server newbie), can I run IIS on a stand-alone PC? Or do I need to be connected to a network.
I can't get it to start the www-service. Any ideas?
Jonathan
Can't really give you a definitive answer, but I was browsing today, and came across some info:

This might be useful to you. Apparently, XP-Home ain't what you want when doing dev. work.
