Nope, poledit was a no go. I have also tried installing the new internet explorer, which didn't work. The last thing I just tried was to upgrade 98 to ME. The comp upgraded fine but it still didn't fix the problem. Anyone have any other ideas before I format?

Home page will default to blank. I have used two anti virus programs 1. AVG 2. Pc Cillin housecall. I still have yet to try poledit but I have gone thruogh internet options to see if anything was off and eventually put it back on default. No luck so far.

Try doing an advanced disk check to see if you have any bad sectors. If that doesn't find anything wrong then it could be another program in the background causing it to stop if so hit control-alt-delete and remove all applications except explorer, then try again.
