Only if BackupExec is unaware of the media. If it is a new media, or was from a different backup system... then yes. If you have previously used this same tape in your current backup system, BackupExec will recognize the GUID and know what type of tape and if it has any overwrite protection.- Jokerswild97

Queued jobs?
I have a StorageTek L80 library, with 8 SDLT drives. About every 4-6 weeks, BackupExec starts only using 2-3 drives of the 8, and queues jobs up until one of those few drives becomes available. Many times, this occurs over the weekend, where I need all drives running to make the backup window...- Jokerswild97
