I actually understood that it is doubled and quadrupled but normally you can set the multiplier to 2 or 4 instead of it doing it behind the scenes right? Because i have no setting for how many times it is multiplied. It must just assume 4 times then i guess?
What about the spread spectrum thing...
Hi. I just purchased and installed a new motherboard/cpu combo and some new DDR RAM. I want to make sure everything is running as fast as possible. I dont actually want to overclock but i definitely dont want to UNDERclock either.
I bought a 2.4ghz Pentium-4 with 1 mb cache and a 533mhz front...
I am interested in getting web hosting but i know almost nothing about it. I dont know how mcuh bandwidth i will need, storage space, etc...
Also i need to know the place that would best fit my needs. I think the number one priority is keeping it very very cheap yet still functional.
I want to...
Check the speed vs. the speed of your internal one.
Also whats the point in a external unless your out of room inside your box? The internals are so easy to install and the externals cost a ton more.
I want to know if someone in our windows 2000/nt network is able to get into our accounting server. I tried to gain access with and without a password from another machine in the office and i was unsuccesful. However i did print something on there printer. Anyways all i tried was when i was in...
Thanks guys.
I think im going to try to un-ground one side.
I never did understand how to use a multi meter to check for differences in ground potential. Did he want me to stick the black wire to the sctp ground wire and the red to the ground in the wall socket? Or what?
Whats the benefit to grounding both sides? Can i just ground one side and be done with it? Or is that way inferior? I dont want to go as far as multi meter testing.
Im not positve what the term Sctp means. Im guessing its the type of wire im using?
I have a gigabit switch in one part of our office. Another gigabit switch in another part of the office far far away. 200ft. The wire connecting the two together is a grounded/shielded cat-5e wire. WE MUST have...
So bottom line......
Should i ground my ETHERNET Cat 5e cables to one switch or both switches?
Remember.... This is a connection between a switch and another switch. Both are gigabit switches.
Im not so sure were talking about the same thing.
We have a gigabit switch in one part of our office and another gigabit switch in another side of the office. We are connecting them with 1 Cat-5e shielded cable. It has a small metal wire going through it and there is aluminum foil shielding...
Well currently we are running gigabit over cat-5 and some cat-5e and as far as we know it works. But we dont really have any real way to test it i dont think. How could i test a giga connection from a pc to a giga bit switch?
Also when using grounded cables do you ground one side or both...
When terminated properly what do you mean? I make strong connections but what do you mean by that?
Also if i used standard cat 5 instead of Cat5e then what would happen? Would it slow down to 100 m/bit?
Also is the length 300ft with giga bit connections just like with 10/100 or is it less or...
