Try "net use LPT1:\\server\printer" in the logonscript of the users that you want to have the printers.
As for using Kixtart, I have not seen it before so I have no idea wether it will do the job or not.

seriously though, its not that bad, but i really dont think the advances from office 2000 warrant shelling out the extra cash. There are some nice features like the translation tool and smart tags but on the whole a bit of an anticlimax.
good old M$ eh...
use M$ word's Find and replace feature
find "$"
replace with "£"
from the edit menu, click "find", click on the "replace" tab.
it's pretty self explanitory from there

try assigning the router an IP address and setting that ip address as the default gateway on the server and client PCs. by doing this you do not have to share the connection through a workstation, all you need to do is connect the router to any port on your hub/switch.

net use lpt1: \\servername\printername
you will have to add this to the users loginscript.
also you could manally add it as administrator on each pc if you want all users to have it not just a select few.

the NT4.0 ERD is never Bootable you will have to run "winnt /b" and specify repair in order to make use of the ERD.
to create a BDC you must always have a PDC you cannot "Demote" a PDC to a BDC but you can promote a BDC to a PDC if the PDC becomes inoperable.

logon scripts are just a drivemapping normally saved as batch file e.g. net use h: \\server\share\folder.
these batch files have to be stored in c:\winnt\system32\repl\import\scripts (this is the netlogon share)
as for profiles you can specify them to store them wherever you like in usermanager...

try changing to the directory to be copied before opening the ftp prompt, next connect to the server and create a directory with the same name as the one you are in.(mkdir) next "put *.*"
