Help? PC can't boot up
You might also try unplugging the data cable that connects to the CD-ROM drive, then boot the machine. It could be a bad cable, incorrectly installed cable, or even a bad controller.- John11v35

Hard drive dead? data recovery needed? help!
You might try using Norton's Ghost. We use Ghost to recover bad drives here and with the correct switches, it usually will recover everything. The "bad" drive has to be made a slave to a WORKING master in order for ghost to work.- John11v35
