I'm trying to get the primary key in an Access table to autonumber in the following manner:

D030002
D030003
D030004

Where 03 represents the year 2003 (next year it would be 04). Is there a way to get it to do this?

By "back end," do you mean an Access table? By "front ends," do you mean Access forms? How would I actually link the 97 form to the 2003 table?
Thank you. I believe those with XP have Access 2002. The db will be on a shared drive and that single copy will be used by the different people. I guess what I need to know is what versions of Access databases will work with Access 2002.
I have an Access 97 database that needs to be used by both NT and XP users. NT users can use it, but those with XP can not. Is there another version of Access which I can convert the db to so that both can use it?
I'm supposed to recommend an OS for my group to use on our new machines. We are going to be using Websphere Studio Application Developer 4.0 and some Rational Tools. It's between Windows 2000 and XP. I've heard XP is "buggy." Is this true? Any recommendations?

Outlook is open and works fine on its own. I get the error when I simply select a table, then click file-send..., so it doesn't have anything to do with any code that was written. Any other ideas? Someone mentioned something about MAPI - I'm not really sure what that is.
I'm trying to send e-mail from an Access form, but when I try, I get an error saying "Microsoft Access can't open the mail session. Check your mail application to make sure that it's working properly." I am using MS Outlook. What's wrong?
