Inserting pictures into Word. Why is resulting file size so big?

When cutting & pasting pictures (usually JPEG) into Word, I can end up with a word file which is huge (for example after inserting 6 pictures of 200kb and a bit of text, the word file ended up at 22mb !!). However, when I "Insert > Picture > From file", this doesn't happen. The word...

    Managing security with LDAP

I intend to develop an intranet information system that uses LDAP to manage security. Thus when users request pages through their browser, if they do not have the sufficient security access, they will be denied the page. My problem is that the system will be hosted on a server running Windows...

Parsing (tokenising) text files into excel format

Hi Pete, can you give me the code? I unfortunately don't know Java, but it may be possible to translate the code into VB. At worst it might give me pointers on how to start. Cheers, JimmyL [openup]

Access 2000 - Maximizing the access application window on startup.

Is it possible to add some VB code into my database to automatically maximize the Access application window when I start the database up? As the default form is designed to be smaller than screen size, I don't want that maximized, only the entire Access application window. Can anyone help...

    Possible bug in Access 2000?

HI Ed, I understand what you are saying. How does the control accept a percentage that I pass to it? What property controls the "progress" itself? Cheers, Jimmy

    Possible bug in Access 2000?

Hi Ed, I've found the control: Microsoft ProgressBar Control 6.0 SP4, and can easily change its appearance, but cannot work out how to link it to my procedure. Any ideas? Cheers, Jimmy

    Possible bug in Access 2000?

Hi Larry! You are a 24 carat genius! I simply used Me.Repaint after each "Forms!frmMain!lblx.Visible = True" command and it worked! Many Thanks! JimmyL B-)
