New to Linux, Suggestions?
The beauty of linux, is you allready have 99% of the info you need. You may need to dig a bit, and do research, but most distro's install a ton of docs, how-to's man pages, etc. I will bet you that if you log into the linux box, startX up if it isnt already, and open netscape, you will get a...- jhoke

changing password without telneting
YES! SSH is the way to go, then if you also use sftp/scp then you can get rid of passwords for most things and use only keys, so that no passwords are on the wire plaintext. I would suggest disabling telnet on any/all machines and moving to SSH anyway, due to telnet's insecurity. john- jhoke
