I have a radio automation application that stores a log file of items that have played. The log file is an Access '97 compatible MDB file. The problem is that is stores each days log in a separate MDB with the date as the file name. There is only one table in the MDB and it has the same...
Thanks for replying. Good idea, but I double-checked the logs and they are coming from the outside, and from many of the same addresses that had them blocked. Very strange. Haven't had anything get through since this died down last week (8/26 was the last one). Is it possible that the box...
I am running a Firebox II with ver 6.2 software. I have the inbound SMTP Proxy set up to strip attachments based on a list of executable extensions. With the influx of the SOBIG virus, needless to say, this function is getting a workout, and I am having a problem with some of these attachments...
This question may seem rather simple to those of you who know hardware, but I can't find a direct answer anywhere. When a PC (server or workstation) has dual or multiple CPU's installed, are these CPU's redundant. In other words, if one fails will the others keep working. My observation was...
I am having problems and can't find any info on Veritas site. Maybe someone here can help.
Get the following error in the event viewer:
Access to catalog file E:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\Catalogs\{C40655FB-E39F-4A8B-9AD7-27B90F755D2A}.U01 failed.

Our e-mail server uses POP3 authentication to allow valid users to send e-mail from outside our firewall. By default Outlook and Outlook Express send mail before receiving mail. Therefore POP3 authentication does not occur until after the send, and the send fails. Does anyone know of a way to...
We were running a NT4 Terminal Server. On this we had 3 modems connected and used PCAnywhere 9.0 to connect outbound for supporting our customers. We found that this worked much better than modem pooling software that we had tried. Recently we upgraded to W2K and tried the same configuration...
I would use a hub or switch to connect the machines together. You'll want to move them to a different private subnet than your trusted network, and setup the optional port on the Watchguard on that subnet also (use the optional port address as the default gateway on your DMZ subnet). Then...
Am looking to upgrade my IIS4 NT4 server to IIS5 W2K. Current server is standalone, and we are using NTFS security to lockdown certain areas of our website. I would like to do the same on IIS5, but can't find a way to migrate the users between standalone machines. We have a lot of users to...
FYI, The disk storing the logs on my syslog server did fill up once. All the Firebox did was quit logging (the name of the "currently logging to:" machine on the control center was blank). System performance was not effected.
I checked it out today. Schlum, what you describe is what we have. It also appears that what holds the memory is not a battery, but 2 large capaciters. I didn't think they went bad, but apparently in this case they have. I guess I'll try to locate one of these adapter pieces somewhere. Thanks...
I have a Meridian 8x24 system. We recently purchased this system used. It sat unplugged for about 3 weeks before we installed it, but has been running for at least 2 weeks since installed. Today, we lost power and apparently the UPS didn't hold. When the system came back up it had reset to...
