Hello everyone.
I have ran into a bit of an annoyance. I had to go to a customers location today to fix an email problem with Outlook 2003 and Outlook XP. They were able to receive email but not send. I got that problem squared away by changing their outgoing servers to Yahoo's new one...
Well, at the remote site we have a 5012 router connected to a 3com baseline switch and 5 3101 Basic phones out there. As for the connection it is a simple T1 line. I don't think the equipment has anything to do with it. What we did is created two seperate VLANs; one for voice and one for data...
Hello eveybody
I didn't see this problem looking through the forums so if anybody can shed some light on this it would be great. Here at our home office we current have all of the voice and data traffic on the same VLAN. Unfortunately, all of the broadcast the phones are sending out is...
Hello everyone,
Just a quick question. Is it possible to map an entire range of internal IP addresss to one outside address. I am using interface PAT and I am not sure what I am doing is right. Let me know of what you think.
Thanks
Good point horus42. I never thought of it that way. I am finally get a test PIX to work with so that way I try different things without jepordizing connectivity. If anyone needs to see a config let me know.
Hello everyone,
Forgive me if this a long.
I have an issue where a client needs to connect to a remote site through a pix. I have posted this problem before and I greatly appreciate all of the replies I have gotten. Unfortunately, the client was out of the country for over a month and I had no...
Thanks for all of your support. I appreciate the amount of feedback.
The system is running 2 Gigs of DDR2 PC2 4200 ram. What I think is happening is that the amount of transactions between the processor and the memory is great. Disk activity is minimal, so I know that the hard drive is not...
Very true felixc, I didn't even take that into consideration.
Maybe I should have been more descriptive. The PC I am using right now does the job. It just takes about 5 minutes to say, zoom in on a specific part. The computer is basically an HP Pavillion with a Quatro card and extra RAM...
Hello,
I am building a system that will be used for 3D modeling with autodesk building systems. I was wondering which processor would be better; an Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe 2.66GHz or an AMD Athlon X2 5200+ Windsor 2.6 GHz? I heard that the Intel is great for overclocking but I thought I would...
I believe the VPN type is a GRE Tunnel with IPsec enabled NetworkGhost. I am willing to bet he is using the microsoft client. I think that horus42's solution should work. If I permit everything from his company through the pix then nothing should get blocked.
Sorry for not responding so quickly. I had taken a day off to get some things for college ready. Thanks for the clear up of ACLs, horus42. The only other thing I can think of that I would have to do is add some more permit statements to allow access from my end into the pix. As for static...
horus42
I don't know exactly what the end device is, but I just sent an email to the client to find out. He has a temporary DSL connection and everything works out fine with that, so I at least know that the companies end works. I didn't apply the ACL because I am not sure if it will block...
Hello everybody,
I have a client who is trying to connect to their office via VPN to read email and fill out timesheets using a web application. He is using Microsoft Outlook for the email and the timesheet application I have no idea what that is. He is able to establish the VPN but when he...
Hey everybody,
I have ran into a problem that I cannot figure out. We have three PCs behind a firewall at a remote site that connects to our home network via VPN. When PC A transfers files from our servers everything works fine; untill PC B does anything related with the domain (i.e. another...
Hi
I am wondering if anyone knows how to use Backup Exec 10 D to create a IDR disk of a physical server running 2003 server and moving it to a virtual server using VMware's virtual server (free version). I keep getting the same error that the hard disks are not there even if I install the SATA...
