Is there any way to view the mailbox sharing settings for mailboxes in exchange?
I know each user can see the settings on his or her mailbox, but I'd like to see these settings for all users in order to ensure nobody is...
Hi all,
one of our domain controllers is constantly (every 10 to 15 minutes) launching ping sweeps against one of our subnets. Everynow and and then it sweeps a different subnet, but it is nearly always the same one.
None of the other Domain Controllers are doing this, so I'm not sure if this...
OK, it's not a stand alone, we have configured to automatically issued certificates... I understand this cannot be done with stand alone CA's, the administrator must review and approve the request.
The CA was configured as a stand alone CA (I'm assuming this because it has issued it's own CA certificate). It is also the only CA in the Domain.
The users do not have roaming profiles.
Thanks for helping out.
I'm doing some testing with EFS but I cannot get it to work correctly. I'm stumped, because in theory, from what I read, encrypting and selecting users who can decrypt is a pretty basic process.
Our Certification Authority is installed on one of our Windows 2003 Domain Controllers.
I encrypt a...

Hi all,
I'm new to Active Directory, so I'm a little bit lost.
I have created a GPO, which activates the screen saver after a certain amount of idle time. These options are in the User Configuration settings of the GPO, so I have disabled the Computer Configuration settings.
The GPO is linked...
Hi all,
The users cannot be given R F rights to the directories, because all the directories contain files which different users have access to.
I agree that it's mayhem, but that's how that particular department chose to set their directories up. (Besides, we are soon going to implement a...
oh, I agree that it's a nightmare to manage, I'm just glad it's not me that has to manage the rights!
Actually, the only type of right is read, because they are pdf files.
The problem is that different people have access to different files in each directory.
Directory permissions arent really an option: the directory in question is used by a specific department and they have created a series of sub directories, and then placed files in each of this sub directory.
Trustee rights have to be set on each file because different users have to have...
Hi all,
Our users are reporting they cannot access files they should have rights to. It's happened a couple of times, and after investigating, we've found that one of two things is happening:
1) The trustees, and their permissions, defined for each file dissapear.
2) The rights do not...
Hi all?
is there some type of DNS record (W2K) can can resolve to several IP addresses?
Im working with HP iLO (remote server management hardware) which autheticate users via LDAP from a W2k Active Directory. The iLO asks for the "Directory server address" which is the ip address, or...
Greetings,
The problem:
I'm working with HP/Compaq iLOs (remote management hardware)that have been added to the W2K Active Directory.
In order to authenticate users connecting to the iLO, you have to tell the iLO the "Directory Server Address", which is the IP address, or the DNS...
I thought of that, but it won't do. As an example, I have an english installation, but use a spanish keyboard.
I also thought about checking for the folders:
"Program Files" ENG
"Archivos de Programa" SPA
"archivi di programi" -my guess of the ITA versión :)
but...
