We resolved this problem in a most unexpected way. Recently we were inundated with virus' and had trouble accessing the microsoft website in order to do the necessary critical updates. We found out that our isp was blocking our ability to access microsoft without a proxy. When they opened our...
Yeah, we went and compared the Novell settings to the XP settings and everything seems fine. Interesting thing is, you can delete all you through Word. Open for a new file and delete. So for now, we are doing it this way.
We have a shared access database whose tables and queries have disappeared. The strange thing is, we open up any one of the forms and the records are there. We also cannot create any new queries, as we get an error message stating the records have been deleted. Where'd they go? The database...

Yes, to all. This problem is limited to only about a handful of files, all the others are fine. The ones that I cannot open, if I copy the file and rename it to Word, I can open it, change it, save it. Change it back to Excel and I can no longer open it.
The error message states that the file may be ready only, write protected or the server is not available, which is not the case for any of those. I already tried the repair to no avail. I will give your other suggestion a shot.
