    Ok, here's the deal: right (immediately) after you double click the Adobe Illustrator icon to start it, you must press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT at the same time right away - and if correctly done, a pop up box will ask if you wish to clear your preference files - click Yes.

    Well, some of Adobe's apps (Photoshop, Illustrator) store user preference files in the Windows user profile folder, forget where it is... some like c:\documents and settings\username\local settings etc. These Adobe pref files can sometime become corrupt and cause wierd errors that you wouldn't...

    solved it - CTRl+ALT+SHIFT nuked the preference files - all's good now! =)

    Hi all, All i'm trying to do is import a jpg file into adobe illustrator - just gives me "insufficient memory was available to complete the operation" error msg any help would be nice! thx j
