Am using Visio Plan 2 subscription, which is the desktop Visio Pro application.
They seem to push themes to control the overall look of a drawing, and styles are there but not well named o rexplained.
It turns out that you can rename or define a style, and set it to just affect the text of a...
Looks like there aren't too many Framers here - the last few threads were unanswered.
I've recently started using Frame 15, with a bit of experience in older versions.
I see Adobe, and some hits from STC Carolina.
Anyone have favorite sites/resources?
Well - it seems that Windows has some features I haven't noticed until now -
I can't believe I just learned this - noticed in Win 7, but does same thing in a Win 2K vm.
In a command window, dir *.doc will also return .docx files.
hm, that's almost cool.
And, in VBA, the behaviour holds -...
I don't think Word 2003 can save to PDF by itself.
Do you have some add-in installed or external program?
Adobe's Acrobat (full or pro versions) add one or several modules that do the job. They work from within Word, so you see a menu in there to "save to" PDF.

Some things depend on the OS and disk management - sometimes there's a drive management layer that obscures where the data is physically written.
If you can for sure write over the media tracks/sectors where the...

Scoping and planning a system should be pretty similar to software. The dev process would depend on size of project, I suppose.
Testing - There's a lot of discussion about testing software - I don't see much about testing systems for deployment.
Is that...
I forgot the other forum was private, and found this one after I made the other post.
I'll repeat it here:
I'm a technical writer, working with the IT group of a SoCal city.
They want me to develop a body of policies and procedures for the City's IT -
the idea being to draw from existing "best...
