i have found a workaround for this issue.
i created a replica of the mailfile using adminp. once the mailfile was on the new mail server, i re-sent the move user request, adminp saw that there was a file already, and update the domino nab entry for the user.
yes i have checked tha acl. the old and new server are listed as managers on the acl.
one entry i have seen on the internet refers to some archive setting on the mailfile (where i dont know) which has an older certificate. but i dont have a clue where to look for that.

I get the following error when I was looking through the log.nsf:
Admin Process: File name: Mail\Gauteng - Sunninghill\Chantal_Joynson.nsf: Adding entry will cause text list to exceed 64K. Entry not added.

Has anyone run domino client 7, in a domino 6.5.3 server environment? Are there any issues regarding the db2 on the client side? Are there issues with interfacing the client with the servers? Would it impact the servers negatively?
