    MAS90 passwords

I would reinstall your version of MAS 90 on a test server and then copy all data folders that begin with a module code and proceed with a company code into that new installation’s MAS 90 folder. For example: Your old install had company code TST. In that company code you used Sales Order, AR...

Error using Crystal and MAS90 w/ a report. Linking, maybe?

When you remove that phone number field entirely, does the message persist? If not, you may consider writing a small subreport that will determine which phone number to display. That might be an easy workaround.

    Troubling adding a custom report

What version of MAS are you running? 4.0 or earlier? You may need to set up Role Maintenance (4.0) or Menu Security Maintenance (earlier). By being a Supervisor, at least in versions prior to 4.0 - you are allowed to make one sided General Journal Entries and can update without printing...

    Database Synchronization

It's normal to get confused by the data. I still get seriously frustrated... The timestamp is definately not an option for MAS 90. Some records have a posting date, but that's not even half of them. Even if there was a timestamp field (did you mean for each record in the each table?), I...

    Routine maintenance for Mas90?

I don't do any general maintenance. On occasion I may rebuild sorts for modules, but I don't really bother unless a particular error requires it. Most errors appear in Data Entry, not much you can do to avoid those. Other than that, as long as there are no hardware issues on the server...

    Database Synchronization

Now that's an interesting idea. That would sure would help. I can't think of a way to do this... hmm. How would you accomplish this in any other database? Say we wanted to determine new records in a SQL Database in order to extract them to another database. How could be accomplish that...

SO_CRW and SO. whats the difference?

The CRW files get populated when you actually print or preview the report. You'll find that in many instances the report generation is much faster than using the usual data entry files. The time it takes to generate the report is often critical when printing lots of invoices, etc.

    Database Synchronization

I have only done this using SQL DTS Packages and that required importing the data quite often from the MAS 90 server. If anyone else has another approach, I'm also interested in learning it.

    Your Sever Stats

Carl, once again, you've paved the road for me! I'm digging at the macromedia web site right now. I did a couple of searches there prior to submitting this post, but I think I was too vague with the search criteria. Thanks!!!

Workstation freezes when using MAS 90

I guess you have probably realized it is no longer a mas 90 problem. There may be some steps you can take to pinpoint the real cause. You may need to set up performance monitoring on that PC in order to find out where and why it's dying. Or, you might need to update that PC (just make sure...

    Feature Release Updates

I realize that testing is a major factor - but I will be the only person doing the testing. There is no test environment and certainly no team to assist me - I am on my own. Perhaps I should have already mentioned that. How does that change my options? How would testing normally be done in...

    Feature Release Updates

Hi there, I was wondering if the experts on this forum would be willing to join in and give their 2 cents. When do you make the critical decision as to whether to upgrade to the next feature release, or to stay put? I'm still at feature release 1, am I lagging behind? When should I seriously...

    create a testing environment

sounds involved, but sounds like an idea. Also I was thinking about Wscript or vbscript. How important do you guys think it is to stay current on the feature releases? How do you decide whether it's worth upgrading? I'm still at FR1. Am I far behind? When would you suggest I start really...

    create a testing environment

it seems to me that upgrading to fr3 may not be worth the risk simply for speeding up printing that only a small number of people complained about. What do you guys think??
