    Interesting about the single quote; I have an old reference that says it should be allowed, however I noticed on this page - http://www.remote.org/jochen/mail/info/chars.html the single quote is listed as a "Maybe" character.

    To answer your other question, yes an apostrophe "'" is an allowable character in an e-mail address. It's not used very often, because of possible confusion in typing (vs a "`" character. I don't really like using the "_" either, half the time it's lost when an e-mail address gets underlined...

    Thanks for the info so far. I ran telnet from inside and got: 220 "new.mailserver.name" Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.211 ready at Thu, 4 Nov 2004 14:53:28 -0500 Then did a dialed in to my AT&T Worldnet Account and tried to telnet and got a "Cannot Connect to Server..."...
