I had the same problem with my writer...When I was making a copy it asked me if I wanted to "test and copy" or just "copy". When I chose test and copy...that's when I would get the error...now I just choose "copy" and I haven't had a problem. Guess it uses more...

A little goofy problem that gateways have....and gateway has no explanation for it....but....sometimes when it doesn't boot, if you take the video card out of the slot and put it back in ...it will boot fine. We use this alot at the school and it's something tech support will tell you to do...

HI there....we are running Win98 on 15 laptops. All are configured the same. We use the Microsoft Netware client to log onto a Novell network. In the last two weeks...we have been getting printing errors from a few of the machines. The errors happen at anytime. The unit will print...then two...

We have a similar problem....we are going to try static IP addresses to hopefully fix this. I'll let you know if it works.

We have about 200 computers on the server and this isn't a problem with computers using the Novell client. It only happens when using the MS Netware client.

I had the same problem using Novell Client 4.7...after I upgraded to 4.8 I could see the printers and browse for them just fine. :)

Thanks for all the help....I kind of forgot about those windows printer drivers. Guess I'm to tuned in to the cd's that come with the printers. I tried a windows driver this morning and so far so good. I'll do the same when I put the 690 back on the network. thanks again...looks good

I had a similar problem with a 4050n and the culprit was a bad paper tray. It wasn't sensing the size of the paper correctly and thus wanted the user to feed the proper size in manually. Swap trays with another if you can and see what happens.
