I have a problem with an HP LJ 2300 toner. The toner is newly installed, but the printer doesn't seem to notice it. He still asks me to replace it. Does anybody know how to resolve this problem?
Other thing is that the "service"-menu is locked and nobody here knows the code to enter it. Any tips...
It probably is just one of the clutches. It is well known that the Drum Maintenance Clutch fails alfter a time. Xerox built a new part to solve this problem.
This error stipulates that there is an error at the drum/maintenance clutch. Could be 2 things. The clutch itself, or the drum maintenance drawer lift pins. Inspect the pins for wear. If so, you can use some plastic strips to fix that problem.
Normally it should be safe to clean the frontplate of the printhead. It is probably for the best that the area where the head and the c/w/p meet, is clean.
The wear of the lift pins is a known problem for the Phaser 8x0(0) printers. The only thing you should do is fix the pins. With some plastic strips (usualy used to tighten loose cables) put over the pins, this problem can be solved.
First, remove the right cover of your printer. When starting up the printer you should see a flickering light (white light), best seen at the right side of the printer. If you cannot see this light, this means your drum and preheater are not heating up, because of no light activity.
To remove...
Can be 2 things: Pull the black maintenance tray out of the printer (open front cover). Inspect left and right side of the tray for worn pins. Is so, you can place some plastic strips. Second option: The electric clutch that is lifting the tray is broken. (Since a couple of months, xerox has...
The cleaning phase the printer does everytime he powers up can be performed also by choosing in the menu "troubleshooting" and "eliminate light stripes". At this time the printer will clean the printhead and will also purge it. This purging uses 1/8th of a block. So after...
Most likely cause is a failed drum heater. One or maybe both lamps that are used for heating the drum may be defect. Replace the drum/paper preheater assembly.
Greetz,
No probs...
Try to clean the exit roller (rollers just under the exit cover). It is possible that the paper slips over these rollers. If that doesn't work, your transfix clutch might be broken. But please, try to clean the rollers first, it might be just that.
Hope it works ...
Greetz,
Pull out the media tray. On the right side of the tray, near the front, you will see a blue switch with two holes above. One of these holes should be filled with a plastic piece, a tray sense plug. This plug marks if the printer is using A4-paper or Letter. If you don't have a plug, you can...
