On click of the add new button:
1. DataGrid1.SelectedIndex = -1 (this clears the datagrid selection to avoid confusion to the user.)
2. set all the text properties to "" for your textboxes.
3. hide the update button and show the add button.
I guess you could also check if the SelectedIndex...
If the selection on the datagrid is what populates the textboxes (rather than a button click), then the update button won't need to check if a row in the datagrid is selected. may be a simpler approach...

i must be thick, this all looks like it would help, but where does Word allow you to place code statements like this? The only place i am have found to set an IF statement is under "Insert Word Field", and in there it is all drop-downs? Thanks

I would like to number the pages of my slideshow with a Page X of Y like in Word (the page i am on out of the total pages in the slideshow so if i were on page two it would read "2 of 34"). I can see in the Header/Footer section how to number the page, but is there a way to show page X of Y?
