    Symantec Corporate 9.0 -- spyware/adware?

I should have mentioned that I can only remove files in safe mode. All in all, i'm quite disappointed with this; about the only thing it does for me is give me some heads up -- assuming i run or schedule manual scans all the time -- beating a users' complaint of too many popups by a couple of...

Anyone using Corporate Ed 9.0 Yet?

Got it deployed, and it seems to be a bit quicker on the manual scans, in addition to the other nice features. Now to sort through the friggin' Outlook issue that's been mention here... and is now on sixty of my machines.

    Symantec Corporate 9.0 -- spyware/adware?

wow... you're right! thanks So now, is there a way to enable scanning for expanded threats in auto-protect? I can't seem to find it. For the manual scan, it actually works, and seems to work well, which is great. But I can't go around manually scanning all these computers all the time.

    Symantec Corporate 9.0 -- spyware/adware?

teach your employees to use it." Yeah that's cute ;). Cause we all trust them so much... No, spybot and apm are my two best friends, but I definitely have to do that myself. I was really hoping 9.0 would take some of the burden off me; apparently not, however :(.

    Symantec Corporate 9.0 -- spyware/adware?

I'm preparing to upgrade from v8 to 9, and am interested in the new anti-spyware features. However, in a trial run on one of my machines, the client with the latest definitions failed to find _any_ of the spyware/adware I allowed to be loaded on the computer, which included GAIN.Gator, other...

    8.01 to 9.0 Upgrade

I'm starting to plan my migration as well; honestly the documentation doesn't seem to mention anywhere whether or not forcing the client to install will push out the new version. It makes sense to me that it would though... However, I think I'm going to use group policy to push these things out...

Client on different subnets using old NT4 DC to authenticate?

wow... so after hours of banging my head against this, i found a solution seconds after posting. figures. but it appears that changing the domain membership from the old XXXX domain to the new XXXXX.XXXXX.local did the trick. Now the question is if I can find away to change every machine on...

Client on different subnets using old NT4 DC to authenticate?

Hi all, After a recent upgrade from NT4 to 2K3 on my domain, I now have 2x2K3 DCs, and 2 NT4 DCs. The problem is that on my biggest subnet, .50, most (not all!) of the client machines are not authenticating with the 2003 domain controller, and are not getting group policy applied, are not...

    SUS

Even the SP4 clients aren't working? I couldn't get SUS to work with any of my machines until I deployed it with group policy. Is that how you're defining your update settings?

HELP - SYSVOL folder is not replicating

I resolved this today by completely removing the DNS service from the 2nd (non-replicating) domain controller. Now I just need to figure out what was going wrong...

HELP - SYSVOL folder is not replicating

I also am getting JRNL_WRAP errors on the 1st DC (the one with the working sysvol). I tried to fix these, but have been unable, and figure these might be causing hte problem? The error is: Event Type: Error Event Source: NtFrs Event Category: None Event ID: 13568 Date: 4/23/2004 Time...

HELP - SYSVOL folder is not replicating

I'm getting these exact errors and have been banging my head against them for two full days now. AD Replication is working fine, but FRS is failing with a 13508 error. DNS is fine, and both machines can resolve each other. The only problem I can see that is left is that the browser on the...
