I guess I am not very sure if I understood your question.
What is your work?
Do you want to have a web page for the graphics/images you have created?
How is it related to Adobe Illustrator?
I guess you can draw text on any curve(on plane) starting with next release of Illustrator(i.e. AI CS).
It should be just as easy as drawing a path and writing out text on it.
I believe even next release of Photoshop would have these features, with them working seemlessly across both the APPS.
I hope you did try
Menu: Edit->Preferences->Plugins&Scratch Disks->Primary.
May be you are running short of space on the partition in which you have AI installed.
There is probably another way out for you.
Illustrator can save(Export) your document to PSDS.
