Lespaul,
We have been doing that, but when you generate as many queries as we do on a daily basis it becomes a pain in the @$$ to do that every five minutes or so. We were hoping to find a way to eliminate it from the start.
Golom,
When I get into work in the morning, I will look that up...
We have a situation that started about 2-3 months ago. When we make a query using MS Access, it automatically pulls ALL fields for any and all tables queried.
Example:
I query for LastName, FirstName; sort by LastName FirstName.
No other fields.
This is the SQL statement that is generated...
I was required to install a MS Access application that was used in another office. It does exactly what our originally DB did (the one I developed here), but it has more pictures and our boss likes the 'snappy' look.
Anyway, the problem is that when one user opens the frontend, no one else is...
Hello All,
I am fairly new to this, and am trying to use a module to create an item by joining two fields. It is simple, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it work.
We have a field called [lastname] and another called [firstname] - original ain't we? When we run reports, etc, we...

Okay, I can see that, but how do you create one record for each of the 'x' number of employees assigned to the section. Each employee should have his/her individual record in table2 when this is done.
That is what is causing the headache.
Thanks

I hope someone out there can help us. The situation is that we have two tables with the fields indicated.
Table1:
Emply_ID
Employee_Name
Employee_section
Table2:
Emply_ID
Training_Class
Training_Date
Comments
On form #1, we would like to:
...(1)Select the section that training was...
We have a situation where we have been tasked to input training informaiton about indivdual groups of employees.
(Maybe this should be posted to the Access Forms group - if so, let me know)
What we would to do is use a single form where the user.
(1) selects the group
(2) inputs the training...
Sam,
I am currently doing this for my database. There is one that a specific group has edit authority to, and another IDENTICAL that has all the "FORM" properities set to NO:
Allow Edits = NO
Allow Deletions = NO
Allow Additions = NO
Data Entry = NO
These properities work...

Everything appears normal. No error or alert messages.
I had one person - a local user who I know - tell me that it happend to them and they had to go in and recreate each query, form and report before this problem disappeared. There must be an easier way.
Harry Jessen...

That sounds interesting, but I am NOT a pro at this by any means. Could I obtain more details? The only problem I see is the multiple "versions" of a record. How would you assign the versions or know what the latest was?
I am using a single frontend that access...

Nope, no CD. We zipped the DB and then sent it over the network to the distant server. (This was a direct transfer, not an email.) The file was unzipped, and the rest is history.
Any ideas?

Is there a way to verify that a user wants to change information?
We have a situation where some information is being changed - by mistake - and nobody will admit to doing it, much less admitting to being in the record. (I know - this NEVER happened before!)
What I would like to do is make...
We have developed an Access application with a frontend and a backend. The application works great - until we send it to another site for use. Of course, they have to relink the frontend and backend once it is installed - no problem there.
However, the new user is not able to input new...

The only problem is that we need to do mathmatical actions later on such as averages. If I make it text, I won't be able to do that.
Thanks anyway!

OKAY, just came up with more information that might clarify what we are doing. The time I am trying to enter in the field is how long it took to complete the activity - the duration. I do not need a 24 hour or am/pm time system. Just entering minutes and seconds it took to complete this...
