ICMP have no assign port, it works on layer 3..... Use the traceroute tool from Linux System, that works with UDP . The default destination port is 33434. You can change this port... You find more information in the manuels... "man traceroute" on the system. Regards Helge

Hello, the .CAP from the Version 4.7 is compatible with the version 4.0 or 4.5/4.6. The CAP have change from 3.x to 4.x. If you save a trace with the .CAP under 4.x you can't open this under 3.x. The only way is to save the traces under 4.x with the extension .caz and you can open this traces...

Hey Robert, i have try it Sniffer Apps in VMWare Session and i have no problem with this Images.... The only one is, that you can´t capture error frames from the network.... Regards Helge
