So I placed a very ugly band-aid on this problem and walked away from it for too long. The problem happend again and I'm still baffled. Here are a few things that I know.
I think the orignal post was wrong, and the problem line has always been the DSL line, however I have...
I've moved the co line to a wireless phone for the time being. No static that I can hear. The other odd thing which may or may not be related is that sometimes dsl activity of the other co line goes off line when I attach it to the norstar system. I swapped the wires figuring I messed up the...
I only have the static on the norstar side and only from one line that is provided by Verizon no matter which position I punch it down on (one or two). I have not tried position 3 or 4 on the current card, nor have I tried moving the card to one of the other slots.
I have a client who has been using a MICS with a CI card and two POTS lines for years now and all of the sudden one line is producing static. The static follows the line (when I move it from the second position to the first position) and the other line which is also the DSL line is clean. When I...
Wow, I was happy with a simple no.
{curlycord} I don't have a spare 0x32, I just used that at my place to replace my 8x24 and test this new setup.
{Phonehed,RikRodgers} This is just loop lines, no PRI. I've already had to deal with that nightmare on other installs.
{SupportDude}I plan on...
I was afraid of that, thanks for your help. I just wanted to have the new programming ready when the number porting was done so it was a seamless change over. I guess I'll just have to do some quick programming changes when that happens.
Thanks.

I will be upgrading a system and doing some major line changes to an 0x32. I would like to pull the current working cart out and put the new one in on a weekend setup the system with the new lines and test it. But when I'm done I want to drop the old cart back in and let them work as they are...
Just a follow up, Can I have lines ring with out having an appearance on a station? I've seen it before on newer 0x32's but this is an 8x24 DR5. Thanks

Thanks, I'm trying it now. I started to mess my self up by reading the wrong book and got off on a tangent with line groups. I'll be sure to report back on how it went

I'm not sure I was clear, the VOIP is going to have fxs ports and be connected to the Loop start trunks of the 8x24 so they will show up as line 001 through 008. I've done this with 2 lines already using a Linksys pap2 and it works fine but I'll be adding more and I want to re-program the system...
I have an idea in my head that this is possible, but I would like to be told one way or the other before I bang my head against a wall setting it up. I would like to attach a number of VOIP ATA's and place them into a line pool so that incoming and outgoing calls are performed via the intercom...
I've got a pilot on a 7.1 MCS connected to a T1, and they have an line that rings in from a 800 number and they do not want the VM to pick up. I've checked the VM and that line does not have an entry, and the same thing for the extension. However after 4 rings the VM will pickup to the General...
Well The system is backup, Thanks for all the tips. Just some follow-ups...
RikRodgers: When the system went out, each subsequent reboot of the system, regardless of how long the power was out, kept the date. I'll do some further testing after I'm sure I have a proper backup of the...
Thanks, but alas we ordered a new key as the old vendor could not tell us where the Key was purchased, and we have no records available to us regarding the transaction. We could not wait any longer as the call volume is too much for our backup systems. Thanks all for your help, The PRI and the...
Two years is a long time for documents to hang around. I've been searching, but I still haven't even come up with the invoices for the equipment.
Could a dead T-1 card cause the programming to re-set? The new vendor was suggesting that they bring a new card and the programming would come back...
