Excellent advice, thanks guys!
I didn't know you could change the wireless cards in integrated wireless laptops.
I may try the static IP/DNS/Gateway route first.
I'm confident that the WiFi is connected as it finds the wireless network and claim's it's connected even without the ethernet.
And...
Hi,
Very strange problem here.
The WiFi connection works fine, but only when the laptop is also connected to the router using an ethernet connection.
I can then ping both IPs assigned to the PC and connect through them.
As soon as I unplug the ethernet cable, I cannot even ping through the WiFi...
In fact, I could try swapping the circuit boards over first, that'd probably make more sense! Didn't think of that!
I think it's a problem with the circuit board as I think windows and even bios just stopped detecting it one day.
Yes I knew someone who once managed to do it and the drive did fail again after a short time. Luckily he managed to get his data off first.
Looks like I'll have to sanitize the area first too. I've a dog and her hairs get everywhere. nightmare!
Hi,
I've an old 13GB HDD which failed a few years ago.
I've decided to have a go at recovering my data.
It's not dritical data, so I won't be contemplating suicide if I mess up, but it'd be nice to have a browse through some old stuff.
I've managed to find an identical model and I'm going to...
I take great care in maintaining my windows installation and it runs as quick (possibly even quicker) then when I first installed it.
It is completely optimized and I think the benefits of a clean install are far outweighed by the amount of work it'd take to start from scratch.
I'd have to...
"Is the file really viagp1.sys or is it viaagp1.sys."
Sorry you're right, it's viaagp1.sys
"I can see no reason why you would need a reinstall of any .sys file after a clone unless your XP install on the original drive wasn't working."
It's working on the first HDD fine, I'm using it now and...
XP Pro System, upgrading from 40GB to 160GB.
I used Norton Ghost to clone my 40GB HDD to my new 160.
When I boot from the new drive however, it boots up and reaches a point just before XP Logon, where there's a blue windows screen with a small Windows logo. It's like the login screen without...
I'm loading an XML document and then parsing it.
This script works fine of all of my clients except 1.
His domxml_open_mem() function dies, saying:
Extra content at the end of the document
So I checked the XML file and the end looks like this:
</Question>
</ResultSet>

Hi,
I've set it up and it works fine.
But how come Dreamweaver allows you to browse the testing file structure, like it does the local and remote file structure?
Isn't there a way to have seperate local files and testing files, uploading to the testing server when you like?
I cant find the answer to this question anywhere, I think I may be missing something obvious.
I've defined a testing server, which is local, My PC is also running Apache, MySQL and PHP.
I also have my trusty remote site, which I FTP to.
I normally edit my files then upload to the remote server...
