Hi Annihilannic
You seem to be right!!
this is in /etc/logrotate.d/snmpd
/var/log/snmpd.log {
notifempty
missingok
postrotate
/sbin/service snmpd condrestart 2> /dev/null > /dev/null || true
endscript
}
How can i change this? Can I change "condrestart" to "status"...
Hi
I monitor my Linux servers via snmp with a third party tool.
The problem is every sunday at Time: 4:14:40, it seems that the snmpd agent dies or restarts, im not sure.
This is the output of messages around that time

Hi
I have a two node cluster sharing a GFS filesystem.
I am running GFS6.1 RHEL4 Update 2.
My problem is :
When i boot any of the two nodes, it hangs on startup at :
" Starting fence domain : "
I then need to reboot both nodes and start them up at the same time.., and then they startup fine.
I...
This seems to be if you backup the nodes as individual nodes - by their own names, or I am missing something.
This doesn't seem to allow for any Failover backup and
doesn't have any failover intelligence built in. It is seems to be treated purely as a node ,however, we have
duplication of...
Hi
We are implementing Oracle RAC running on 4 Linux Servers.
I am a bit baffled on how to approach the backup on the cluster. The setup doesn't use 'n virtual node and I have never backed up a cluster without the virtual node.
At the moment everything is backed up twice , because I dont know...
Hi
Thanks for your input.
Your comments steered my in the right direction.
My nsrnmo3.sh config file had a problem.
It did not have the #!/bin/sh at the top.
I must have screwed it up when I copied the file or when I Set the different env..
Thanks again.
I always get usefull info from these...
Hi
I am struggling seting up the Networker module for Oracle
I am running Redhat Enterprise Linux 3 update 5 on 4 clients.
I have installed
lgtoclnt-7.2.1-1
lgtoman-7.2.1-1
lgtonmo-4.2-1
on all the clients.
My backup Server is running RHEL2.1

Yes I am aware of that.
I have bought the Networker Oracle Module To backup the DB's, and are still playing around with that.
At the moment I use RMAN to backup the Oracle DB, and then I want to backup the RMAN Backup, as I do on some of my AIX Servers.
There is infact two OCFS Filesystems on my...

I did check the viarables with env.
And with env it displayed my variable as I have set it.
you can test it with " echo " as well
But that is just the thing....
When you set the Environment variable globally automatically at system startup in /etc/profile or manually

I have struggled a lot to make some sense of the problem I am experiencing with my Netware Client 4.22 and Networker Server 7.2.1.
I completely removed (on the Backup Server) 7.2.1 and loaded 7.1.2.
7.1.2 Works fine, you see what you need to, and backup what you need to.
I then removed 7.1.2...
Yes I can see the "GUI" on the Netware Client, but it is blank. You see only the Server Name and time.
I have checked again and the NSR_SUPPORT_NETWARE_4X=1 variable has been set correctly echo $NSR_SUPPORT_NETWARE_4X as well as "env" confirms that.
Yes I restarted the NW server after all...
Both the Backup Server and client are new Servers.
I deleted the /nsr/tmp contents stop/start etc...as you mentioned.
Still, I get the same error.
Also I still have the "Blank" Screen on my Netware Networkr Console.
Anything else you can think of?
Cheers
