look for a program that microsoft have produced that checks your server for security issues/lock down it tells you how many accounts do not meet what ure looking for sorry dont have the link

Hi i work at schools with 3 2003 servers,that i have built from scratch, and xp as the clients. Im having a problem with my laptops at one of the schools. (wirless) If the users log onto a laptop that they have not been on before it takes approx 2 mins first time around.. having logged off and...

hi all (happy new year to you all)
when setting up my 2003 server i put in two nic's, dont ask why i can't remember lol..
everything is fine and all runs well.. one of the cards is registered as the internet (mac address) connection.
I have set my new years res.. to set up a 2004 ISA server...
I have just ghosted a xp pro laptop with ghost 7.5 using DOS then ghost. The image is on a hard drive on a box i quickly made up!! the laptop was a samsung A10 i'm about to ghost the image to another laptop which is totaly different in all aspects.. I expect to see a blue screen and all manners...
the wireless router how many ports does it have (ethernet connections) if it has 4 connect each machine to it with a straight wire con not cross over.
check if you have DHCP running on the router

first question for u ??? you say 2 test machines with cat5 cable connected to each other!!
1. is it cross over cable
2. have you got a switch/hub on the network
i ask as you did say u new nothing about networking...
