    IIs index problem

I hope you can help. My network admin setup a index on our IIs 2.0 server years ago and now it seems to be corrupted. Any search on our intranet returns the following error: Error "File query.idq. Unspecified error " (0x80004005) encountered while processing the query "1001". We have 3...

copy files from NT server to W2000 server

I'm trying to copy files from one old NT server to a new server. I've copied all the files already but I need to make one final pass and only copy the files that have changed since the first copy was made. I'm using Xcopy but I need a way to look back at what files it wasn't able to copy (for...

    seeing other Domains

I do run 128bit WEP so the building is somewhat secure. Also, we've run tests and there are many places IN the building were you can not get a signal. We also tried to run laptops outside without any success so the metal-clad building is keeping most of the signal within the walls. Thanks...

    seeing other Domains

How can I tell if they are workgroups or domains? I suspect that they are wireless users who are using their laptops at home on their own workgroups. I know that I don't have anyone using our wireless network that shouldn't, our signal doesn't get out of the building... or at least not far...

    Email addresses - MBX = 1

Hello. On our Exchange 5.5 server, some of our users have in their email address properties a protocol of MBX with a value of 1. What is this please? This is in addition to their SMTP and other addresses. Not every user has this but most do. Thank you.

Thanks.. but that is not an option. All I want to do is use this as a member server and not worry about upgrading the PDC or other BDC yet.

Upgrade 4.0 to W2K BDC problem

thanks for the quick response. The fellow doing the installation cancelled the original upgrade whenever it got to the AD installation section. So now, whenever we start the server it wants to continue and won't allow us to finish since there is no AD domain. So a clean install should fix...

Upgrade 4.0 to W2K BDC problem

Help please. We are trying to upgrade a NT4.0 server that was a BDC to W2k server and make it a member server. We still have 2 other NT4.0 servers acting as the PDC and BDC. Whenever we reboot the server it runs a AD wizard and errors with "An AD for the domain or an AD domain controller...

    replicator error

I've inherited a NT4.0 server that runs Pro-E's Interlink application. I've noticed that in the application log of the event viewer, there are a string of replicator errors, about every 15 minutes. One states system error 32 and the other states system error 5. No other info is provided...

    32 bit file access problem?

I am running a older, win95 app on a system with XP Pro running NTFS. Whenever I click on the exe file, I get a warning about needing to select/create a working folder. I accept the suggested working folder name and I get the following error: Windows 32 bit file access is being used. Is this...

    Outlook's calendar hour glasses

I set up a profile on my PC for this user and logged into Outlook as the user. When I did this I was NOT able to access his calendar. I'm not aware of a detect and repair process but I will look for it. I ran the cleanfreebusy on my PC and then logged in as him but I still have the Calendar...

Outlook 2000 - User hourglasses when they click on Calendar

I also tried to login as this user from my PC. I get the same problem, I can access everything except his calendar. I have not changed his access rights and everything worked well prior to the holidays. Any ideas?
