I tried to do a restore from the master/media server for a file server. The restore hung at the mounting tape section so I ended it via activity monitor. Now, when I go to view status, it shows the restore as "In Progress" although it's been ended in activity monitor for over 15...
I've got 2 questions. 1) I'm on a Win2k machine w/ LTO1 tapes/drives, and I'd like to know if I can clear a catalog tape (that was used w/ vault) so I can put it into rotation with the other 'regular' backup tapes since i'm running low and the tape has expired. The bpexpdate command doesn't...
Comtech17, (or anyone else that knows)
Is there any way I can vault data on the remote media server via the master? I've got the media server setup, (its got a robot physically attached via scsi), but I keep getting "Unable to obtain the robotic information for this robot. vault may not...
Situation:
I have a master server on my site and I'd like to set up a media server in another city. I'm running NB Datacentre 4.5. on windows platform. Me and my sister company has twin IBM 3583 IBM Ultrium librarys w/ 2 drives each. My master is connected via scsi directly to the library. My...
use the bpexpdate command to expire images
To expire all images on a tape bpexpdate -m <media_id> -d 0
For specific images you'll use
bpexpdate -backupid <backupid> "this is found on the Images on Media report" -d <date>.
You can type bpexpdate on a command line and it will give...
Situation:
I would like to have vault run automatically after the last backup of the night is complete (rather than rely on users to run it manually). The last backup is natuarally a catalog backup. I think I can do this with the vltrun command, but I have no idea on how to transfer this to a...
1st, thanks for your response!
But this brings up other questions: I tried this last night, but my throughput was dropped down from 14kb/s to 8 or 9kb/s. Is this because I'm trying to backup data on the same drive of the server (drive e:\data and c:\ & e:\"EVERYTHING ELSE") at the...
On my file server I would like to enable streaming. I don't like the 'automatic' way netbackup makes 1 stream per drive because most of my data lies on E: so the E: stream takes forever.
My E: drive has a folder we'll call Data. I want that to be 1 stream, and everything else (all other...
I think this is probably an easy fix but I've found nothing in terms of help from the admin guides. I'm simply trying to print (via vault) to a remote printer. On the 'reports' tab near the bottom on the 'print command line' I'm typingc:\winnt\system32\print.exe...
Thanks for your help pgphantom. I was able to figure out what the exact problem was. With the vmquery command i was using 1 0, and was informed that it should be 1 1 for the volume pool and location. Don't really know why it worked but for those couple of tapes, it did.
