I have a VIA based motherboard that I need to replace with an Intel chipset motherboard. All I have seen and read is that inorder to do this you HAVE to reinstall Windows 2000. From what I have seen when you replace a mainboard in Win2000 you get an IMPASSABLE BSOD!. THERE HAS to be a way around...

These two guys are right (in my experience anyway). I had a P166 non mmx until recently. I purchased a 3com winmodem and it would not work. After about a week and 4 MORE winmodems i finally upgraded my m/b and processor. Wroked fine after that.

I know I am new here, but can someone tell me what the heck is the difference between Win98 and Win ME? I currently use Win98 and would like to know why I should even think about Win ME. Thanks
