Thanks for your answer danomac, The thing I want to do is to make a directory named images, placed under the main domain, accessible by a subdomain. The subdomain's docroot I still want it to be: /var/www/vhosts/'domain'/subdomains/'subdomain'/httpdocs Does your post do that?

Thanks danomac for your answers, i'm new in these things. The only open_basedir i found is in the php.ini file and it is not being used.
