    you dont use the 8000 and 10000 when formatting a rsd, that is to load the os. just do vol format rsd XXXXX res then do your vol backup. so you dont mount it, then you just type vol backup sysuser on rsd then remember to reboot the controller after because it dismounts sysuser during the process
