    Problem using Norton home page to scan for virus

    When I scan for viruses using Norton Systemworks (2005) on win xp it goes fast, but if I go to the the response center and run the scan it take houres (about 12) I can see it scaning files one at a time. My hard drive is small. Any thoughts? I tought I might have a virus. Thanks
