Thank you again davidmichel, I understand now. Yeah, the tech guy that traced the problem before me also said something about permissions. So I assume the problem will also go away if i make arcserve *not* backup those files (the killer 'wci' folder) ALso, how do I put the job engine in debug...- gunner1983

Mounting tape drives over network for Arcserve use
Thank you davidmichel, I understand now. Fortunately I was able to reclaim the tape drive for NTBackup, the default little gizmo that comes with NT4, I just loooooooove its simplistic user interface, and it runs without a hiccup, AND the most important thing is that the backup it makes can be...- gunner1983

Mounting tape drives over network for Arcserve use
Greetings All: Is there anyway for Arcserve to mount a tape drive that belongs to some other server over the network, if that server (with the tape device) has no Arcserve installed on it whatsoever? In other words, is it possible for Arcserve to use remotely shared tape drives? Regards...- gunner1983
