cda's read, but no sound
SOLVED. Thanks all for the help - in the end I think it WAS the "aggresive media player" problem. I must've deleted some file that one of them (winamp, divX, WMP) had stuck somewhere else. But I stripped all of them out and then re-installed WMP and it's working now. SO, thanks a lot...- Gully68

cda's read, but no sound
Hi, I admit I'm fairly novice at this but I'm trying to solve the following: from a USB connected CD RW drive, I'm trying to play cda files; they are recognized by the software (WinAmp, CD player, etc) but while everything appears as though it's playing, no sound comes out.
