We used Blinker 7 to link the progs.
Griff, it doesn't seem to matter who opens the files first, whoever it is it appears to "hang on" to them.
Is there a tool we could use to replicate some sort of interrogation of the .dbf without using our DOS front-end? That way I could narrow down the...
Thanks for the responses. I tried to change ownership from the server itself (to Administrator) but that didn't make any difference. I haven't had a chance to try it the way you suggested Griff.
TonHu - I tried the Opportunistic solution on the server and two workstations and tested from them...
Hello
We've been having a problem with DBF databases running on a Windows 2003 Server in a workgroup environment. The (XP) client machines run Clipper 5.2 programs, often doing massive amounts of reads on large .DBF files - when only one client is doing this it runs very fast, taking circa 15...

The .bat file gets the database to output the data (.txt) file.

ans = WordBasic.MsgBox("Merge Contracts?", 3)
If...

A client of mine is having problems with his Exchange server (5.5 SP4 on WinNT4 SP6) - he is able to send very small emails (one or two words) but anything larger than that sits in the outqueue and generates a NDR after 72 hours.
He has tried sending via his ISP's SMTP and through DNS. He...
Hi
I am trying to send a "pause" command from the Pause/Break key to a DOS Clipper program running on a Win2k server over VNC (actually UltraVNC which allows keycodes to be sent).
Does anyone have a solution? A decimal keycode would be good, but a key combination would probably work best...
I have the same problem with an Epson EPL6200L on both a D-Link DP300+ and a Netgear PS101, and Epson won't help when "connected to 3rd party devices". Disabling bidirectional printing does not help with this problem.
Hi,
I am currently using a USB ADSL modem to connect to my ISP which is fine. However, I am aware that USB places a 10-15% overhead on my processor (a lowly XP1800+) so I was wondering what overhead, if any, an internal PCI ADSL modem would create?
Would it be worth spending some money on some...
