I am trying to install Windows 2000 server to an IBM PC Server 315. The problem I am having is that once the installation process re-boots for the first time and gets half way through the 2000 server splash screen I get a BSOD:
STOP: 0x0000007b (0xF741B84C,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)...
I've inherited three NT4 servers (on a domain) where a lot of the services login using the Administrator account. Being a Netware person, I'm not too sure of the consequences of changing the Admin password. If I do, will the services not start at the next reboot, will they stop immediately, or...
Two of my clients' machines cannot do any surfing. After typing the URL (eg www.google.com) into the address bar of IE 6 (WinXP Home - SP1), the status bar says that it is trying to find sites called www.www.google.com, then www.www.google.org, then www.www.google.net, and naturally it can't...
I've checked both of those options and it doesn't appear to be the cause of the problem - I don't even think mailbox manager is even installed. Thanks for your help anyway.
Remain,
Thanks for your reply.
Our mail is stored on the server. I'm not sure what you mean by a mailbox manager. What is this and how do I check the tombstone clock? If this is running would it run for all users or just selected ones?
Lupus1,
Not sure if this will help but I had the same error message (1314 A required privilege is not held by the client) when trying to set the workstation time from the server time during execution of the login script. To fix this I made each user a member of the Domain Admins group in User...
A user of mine told me that a lot (several hundred) of messages have disappeared from his inbox. I don't believe he has accidentily deleted them because the number missing is too high. I've gone into mailbox resources for this user and can see that he has around 1600 items but when I add up all...
Problem solved. The other product I had to install was TrendMicro CSM suite which includes Officescan. Once I removed Officescan everything returned to normal.
After installing MS Windows NT Options Pack 4 (IIS 4.0), my NT server has stopped broadcasting on port 110. Now none of my POP3 clients can connect to this server (which also runs Exchange v5.5) and receive their email.
This is the error message I get when Outlook Express tries to get email...
We are running Exchange 5.5 (SP3) on Windows NT 4 (SP6) and just yesterday our POP3 clients (4 Mac's and 1 pc) cannot receive their email. The message from Outlook Express (pc) is:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'xyz', Server: 'aaa.bbb.cc.d', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110...
We have just recently established a microwave link with a customer of ours for the purpose of sharing files. I have hidden all of the folders that I need to hide, but the problem is they can see all of our printers - some of which are on a Windows NT 4 (SP6) LAN. How do I hide these printers so...
I have been asked to create a Help File for our in house FM application. What is the best tool for this? The application runs on workstations with a mixture of NT 4 and XP Pro.
Cheers, Michael.
