I see why you might want to do this.
One way i can think of right now is enable message tracking on the server and search for messages sent out from this DL. If you have many servers, you might want to search message tracking logs on all servers, since DLs sit on AD instead of exchange server...
You might try this and tell us which one has worked:
1. Give 'read only' permission in Mailbox rights
2. Under delivery options, give 0 for 'reciepients limits'
3. Under Delivery restrictions, give 0 in 'sending message size'
The above three options are to not send out emails but read/receive.
If I have to move entire mailbox store to different administrative group and change the homemdb attribute of all users through AD script....would that work? Has anyone tried this?
Any better ideas to implement disaster recovery reducing downtime?
Thanks in advance
Just asking everybody if they have installed Treesize or any other tools on disk-usage report.
Before I install treesize, I would like to know what .DLLs and other files this tool overwrites or copies and also what registry it tweaks.
I'm afraid to install this freeware too on production...

1. SMTP mailroot PATH
2. Message tracking log PATH
3. Exchange server DBs and Logs PATH
I have pulled up the AD fields, that are related to above, except for 3rd one. Anyway how can I display the...
Hello friends,
I have script that tells me the exchange server version and builds and OS, etc.
However the following information is each popped up on different boxes. And we have to click OK to get to another page/box for next information.
How can get everything on one box/page?
Thank you in...
On TCP/IP properties of our Exchange server, we have
DNS primary address and
Alternative primary address set on TCP/IP address
WHen DNS primary server is down, shouldn't the exchange server look to alternative dns server to resolve names or to locate GC server?
That's the purpose of setting...
But these viruses execute only upon opening emails, which we want to prevent users from opening by not allowing emails to come into exch org, in the first place.
Couple of times we were the first recipients of new virus attacks. Neither Mirapoint nor Exchange are aware of this new virus through our virus software. Because of smyptoms and user calls, we find out that there is a virus on that day. However when we call AV company, they tell us that its a...
Thanks for all your participation.
Marc & Ymeg123 have brought out good points and so would like to address them.
If you are going to use 2 NICs, don't bother stopping the NIC, just pull out the cable, much faster
